For last week’s assignment I designed a 2d pattern to be laser cut. As mentioned in last week’s blog post, I sent my design to the Idea Forge and also dropped off my material for the design to be produced.

I ran into a few issues when submitting my file the first time, because the Idea Forge had a hard time reading the file I submitted. After resubmitting the file in a different format, and they finally accepted it. I gave instructions on how I wanted my artwork produced, by telling them I wanted my logo to be whitespace and the pattern around to be engraved. All I had to do then was wait a couple days until I could pick up my produced artwork. And this is how my final product turned out:

When I saw the end product I was very happy with how it turned out. I think this project was my favorite one so far, because I produced a physical object that I can use for decoration and that looks really cool.
